If you’ve been part of this community for a while, you may have noticed something: I don’t talk about weight here. It’s a deliberate choice that I made when creating my coaching programs, and today, I want to share the reasons behind this decision.
Weight loss culture is undeniably prevalent in our society. Many women have grappled with issues of body image and self-esteem, concepts that are frequently intertwined with weight.
I, too, have struggled with self-confidence and self-esteem related to my weight and how I look, and especially how I compare to others. But over time I’ve learned to embrace myself and my body, and focus on my overall health and well-being.
I know now that while weight is one metric, it doesn’t directly correlate with true health or overall well-being.
In my coaching programs, success metrics go beyond the number on the scale. We focus on tangible indicators that look at the whole picture, including energy levels, stress management, confidence, sleep quality and quantity, as well as your overall mood and sense of well-being.
Creating a space that is weight-inclusive and body-positive is also crucial to me. I want to break away from the narrative that places undue emphasis on body weight as the primary measure of success.
By not focusing on weight, I aim to create an environment where individuals can embrace their bodies for all that they are (and all that they do for them!), irrespective of societal expectations.
It’s important to note that if weight is a topic you wish to address during our time working together, I am here for that conversation. Your journey is unique, and your goals and concerns are valid. My coaching is tailored to meet you where you are and support you in the way that aligns with your values.
