Are you in need of a mindset shift?
The days are getting longer, the snow is melting and the weather is getting warmer, and with that comes this sense of new beginnings. I tend to feel re-energized this time of year, like I’m coming out of hibernation and I’m ready to take on the world, reach for my goals and get things done.
But this year I noticed a change. Over the past few weeks I experienced a sense of restlessness. This feeling that I needed to do more and accomplish more. Accompanied by guilt when certain things didn’t get done and when I wasn’t as far along as I’d like to be.
To the point that it was starting to affect my sleep and my mental health.
I took a pause and realized that:
Can you relate?
This is a busy season in my life with many competing priorities.
So I decided to make a simple mindset shift in how I approached things.
I’m starting with self-compassion. Instead of focusing on my to-do list, I’m being more gentle with myself. I’m giving myself permission to not have it all figured out right away and to let things unfold on their own.
I’m tuning in more often and taking what I need. Taking the time to just be and enjoy my life.
If you’re also feeling overwhelmed with everything you could do or should do, tune in and ask yourself what you really need right now.
What would be most helpful during this season of your life?
Maybe, like me, you decide to be more gentle with yourself and lead with self-compassion.
Maybe you decide that you want to be more present and work on being more mindful in your every day life.
Maybe you decide that you want to prioritize your health and you take that first step to get there.
Whatever it is that you need, make it a priority right now. If not now, then when?
What will you choose? Hit reply and let me know!
